Raja Ampat

Oceanic Mantas Raja AmpatLast trip of the season in Raja Ampat.

Mermaid1 travels again on a wicked cruise around Raja Ampat and its fascinating diving spots.

The last full trip covering the incredible scenery from under and above the water of West Papua before the long journey to Maumere.
A smooth flat seas from south to north and the sun was out most of the days to shine the divine coral reefs.
Raja Ampat, a place that always has something new to impress anyone, even the most
experienced ones. The rich biodiverse found in these waters including many of its endemic
species. Wayag Raja AmpatThis place is for sure a box of surprises where you can see from the smallest Seahorses to the biggest Oceanic Mantas during the same dives.
Such a variety of sharks and rays amongst the enormous schools of fish. The pinnacles,
limestones formations, the corals gardens and giant gorgonians that decorate slopes and walls. Cleaning stations, the areas we get most of the fish action, places where all organisms get together for cleaning and feeding purpose over exceptional topography.
The season in Raja has come to an end for now but Mermaid1 will be returning in November.
Meaning another underwater adventure is about to begin. We are currently getting set for the first and very exciting crossing of the year. A 16 day journey and 1000 nautical miles from Raja to Maumere through the Banda Islands and Alor. Another step closer to Komodo and we are ready for it 🙂
