Aaron Sanders

My name is Aaron, and I am an underwater photographer and filmmaker from in the United Kingdom. ​​

The British shores have developed a deep routed love for cold water marine life and diving. The often murky and chilled waters boast an impressive array of life. The hardy yet beautiful underwater world surrounding our island is so often overlooked.

I studied Marine and Natural History Photography at university in England where is specialised in Underwater Photography, from here if have excelled in this field and have seen some success in competitions such as the Underwater Photographer of The Year, British Wildlife Photography Awards and the Ocean Photographer of The Year.

Though my love for cold water diving is unwavering​, I cannot resist the temptation of warmer tropical seas. I have become particularly interested in documenting Squid while in Indonesia, I find their otherworldly form and movements fascinating, and open up so many photographic possibilities.

I currently shoot with the Nikon Z8 in a Nauticam Housing, equipped for both stills photography and video. I would be happy to assist with any film and photography questions or quires onboard Mermaid II.
