HERE BE DRAGONS!!

This time of the year it’s mating season for the famous Komodo Dragons, and they typically disappear up in the mountains for a month or two making it difficult to find any. We got really lucky though, as we managed to encounter a whole bunch of them. Seven to be more precise! With, in all fairness, a bit of help from the rangers in the Komodo National Park, mind you…

Always exciting to watch these impressive reptiles, especially since they were on the move, tongues out and all!

We obviously wanted to get some world class diving in as well, and got the chance to dive with more than 10 big manta Rays in the southern part of Komodo. Very impressive, and we could only gaze in awe as these gentle giants effortlessly glided past!

Throw in big schools of fish, several Reef Sharks and tons of beautiful critters, like Halimeda Ghost Pipefish, Coleman shrimps and a Wonderpus, and you realize that this was another great trip with Mermaid Liveaboards!
