    We dive the best of the best of Komodo National Park and Nusa Tenggara. You will board for this cruise in Maumere, Flores Island and you will disembark in the Benoa Port in Bali.

    The diving in Komodo National Park is unique due to its location in the Coral Triangle. The northern part of the park is located in the Pacific Ocean and the southern part of Park in the Indian Ocean.

    There are not many dive destination like Komodo National Park in the world.

    Itinerary with MV Mermaid I Maumere – Komodo – Bali

    Day 1

    Check-in on board Mermaid I. Once all guests are on board and settle into the cabins, we will do a general safety briefing and start cruising overnight to Komodo National Park.

    Day 2

    Three dives around the Lintah Strait, the strait between Komodo Island on the west and Rinca and Flores on the east. Here, you can expect crystal clear waters and a vast diversity of marine life from sharks and rays, including mantas, to turtles galore, schooling fish and nudibranchs if you can take your eyes off the rest of the action going on around you!


    There is a choice of dive sites including Batu Bolong, Takat Makassar, Tatawa Besar, Tatawa Kecil, Batu Tengah, and Siaba Kecil. Your night dive can be either a critter dive at Wainiloo or a reef dive in northern Komodo.

    Day 3

    Start your day with an exciting visit to Komodo National Park to walk with the dragons! Then relax for around 1.5 hours as Mermaid I cruises south to Manta Alley, home to a large school of reef mantas. After exhilarating manta dives, she will cruise to Horseshoe Bay for your night dive at Torpedo Alley. This site offers some of the most weird and wonderful critters and macro diving you will ever see!

    Day 4

    Spectacular diving awaits you today at the world famous dive site Cannibal Rock – rare nudibranchs, frogfish, spectacular corals, sponges, ascidians, huge black coral bushes, turtles, cuttlefish, loads of reef fish and more. Watch dragons on the beach, spot monkeys, deer and wild pigs along the shore, go beach combing. There might even be a chance to follow whales and dolphins feeding in the calm bay.


    You will overnight at this peaceful place, night diving at one of the many fabulous spots.

    Day 5

    Two more dives in the Lintah Strait, which has beautiful coral reefs, sea mounts and crystal clear waters. The famous Pink Beach or Soro Lia at Komodo Island offers a fabulous night dive with fire urchins, zebra crabs, frogfish, nudibranchs, amazing basket stars and more.

    Day 6

    Spend the day at Gili Lawa Laut or Gili Lawa Darat. Famous sites such as Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, Lighthouse Reef, The Old Passage will delight with fast drifts and great fish action. Loads of feeding action on the morning and late afternoon dives here. The chance for grey reef sharks, Napoleon wrasse, turtles, mantas and even dolphins add to the excitement!

    Day 7

    Two more dives around Gili Lawa Laut area then to Gili Banta to dive reefs, walls and submerged seamounts offering dives with pelagics, turtles, schooling fish and clear waters.

    Day 8

    Four dives at Sangeang Island for rare nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses and underwater hot springs that support this very unique marine life. Cruise to Moyo Island.

    Day 9

    End your adventure with a great dive in the calm, clear waters of Angel Reef at Moyo Island. Massive elephant ear and barrel sponges, schools of longfin bannerfish and red tooth triggerfish, frogfish, nudibranchs, eels, surgeonfish, snappers and dogtooth tuna. Cruise back to Bali.

    Disembark after breakfast, transfer at 8 am to the airport or your local hotel.

    Check-in on board Mermaid II. You will do two dives today. One dive at the fabulous critter sanctuary provided by the pier and another super reef dive just a few hours from Maumere. Cruise overnight to Komodo National Park.

    Transfers are included on departure and arrival days from and to Maumere airport (MOF), and hotels in Maumere town. The free transfers will ensure hassle free transport to and from Mermaid I and Mermaid II.

    Convenient Departure Location

    We depart out of Maumere Harbour – which is conveniently located in the main town of Maumere a quick 30 minute ride from the airport.

    Departures and Arrivals

    All cruise departure will be approximately 15:00 hours and arrival time back will be 08:00 hours giving a lot of time to catch a same day flight.

      Garuda Indonesia is the national airline of Indonesia. Named after the holy bird Garuda of Hinduism from the national emblem of Indonesia. Garuda flies to most of our ports of embarkation and disembarkation. At the time of writing they offer an extra 23kg baggage allowance for sports gear, including scuba diving equipment.

    • Batik Air

      Batik Air is a full-service airline which began operations in May 2013. This airline is part of the Lion Air group. Batik Air flies to many of Mermaid’s destinations. They offer some convenient options such as direct flights from Jakarta to Sorong, for our Raja Ampat cruises, or to Ambon to join some of our most exciting cruises.

    • Lion Air

      Lion Air is an Indonesian low-cost airline and is the second largest low-cost airline in Southeast Asia after AirAsia and the largest airline of Indonesia. The airline operates domestic as well as international routes, which connects different destinations of Indonesia. Wings Air is part of Lion Air and flies to the more remote destinations. Batik Air is also part of the Lion Air group. Between all these airlines, Lion, Wings and Batik can fly you to any of the area where we operate.

    • Sriwijaya Air

      Sriwijaya Air is an Indonesian airline based in Jakarta. Garuda Indonesia group recently took over the operation of Sriwijaya Air. This airline is the country’s third largest carrier and offers flights to various Indonesian destinations and a few international destinations. Sriwijaya also offer convenient direct flights from Jakarta to Sorong for our Raja Ampat cruises.
