Mermaid II’s First Crossing of 2025: Raja Ampat-Halmahera-Lembeh

It’s Mermaid II’s first crossing of this year! Cruising approximately 600 nautical miles over the course of 12 days, across 3 different seas. From Raja Ampat to Lembeh Strait with an adventurous stopover at Halmahera.

Starting the trip in Raja Ampat, where guests enjoyed the abundance of marine biodiversity the Four Kings have to offer. From tiny critters such as Pygmy Seahorses, to vast coral gardens teeming with life, interesting topography, schooling fish, and Devil Rays hunting massive school of silversides.

Moving on to Halmahera, we were treated with exhilarating dives over infrequently dived reefs and pinnacles. Pristine corals dazzling with millions of Anthias dancing in the currents, while larger pelagics casually cruises on top of us.

On the way to Lembeh, we spent a full day of diving in the remote island of Tifore, where some of our lucky guests encountered a giant school of Barracudas, about 10 meters tall from top to bottom!

We finish the trip in Lembeh Strait, the capital of muck diving. We spent our last dives exploring the black volcanic sands looking for more tiny critters. We encountered different species of nudibranchs, crustaceans, pipefishes, scorpionfishes, and many juvenile fishes
